When they try to break you, God uses it to build your wings.
Sometimes your restoration isn’t in the applause—it’s in the ownership. You may forget who you are… but don’t forget whose you are.
There’s a Buzz in my Spirit inspired by KevOnStage’s set about Toy Story.
A new anointing.
A higher calling.
And some folks can’t handle it.
Just like in Toy Story, Buzz Lightyear walked into a room full of toys—but didn’t identify with their label. While they saw themselves as ordinary, he carried a different assignment. “I’m not a toy,” he said. “I’m a space ranger.” And the room couldn't handle it. The minute he stood confidently in who he was, the other toys grew uncomfortable. Jealous. Critical. Shady.
And isn’t that how it goes?
You walk into a room with vision. Purpose. Power. You know there’s something different about you. But instead of being celebrated, you’re mocked. Minimized. Kicked out the window like Buzz. But that “kick” was really the catalyst. What they thought would destroy you only activated the wings God already planted in you.
And even Woody—his biggest hater—wasn’t evil. He was insecure. He thought God’s favor had passed him by. But the moment Woody looked down and saw “Andy” written on his shoe, he remembered who he belonged to.
Sometimes your restoration isn’t in the applause—it’s in the ownership.
You may forget who you are… but don’t forget whose you are.
💎 3 Gems from God About Identity and Calling
💎 Your difference is divine.
“You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit.” — John 15:16 (NLT)
You weren’t made to blend in. You were chosen to stand out. God placed something in you that others may not understand—but He did it on purpose.
💎 What they try to destroy, God will use to elevate.
“You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good.” — Genesis 50:20 (NLT)
The push wasn’t punishment—it was positioning. What looks like rejection is often God’s redirection to your purpose.
💎 Even in doubt, you still belong.
“For the Lord will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance.” — Psalm 94:14 (NIV)
When it feels like you’ve been forgotten, look down. God’s name is still on your life. You’re still chosen. You’re still His.
🙏🏾 A Prayer for Those Who Feel Overlooked or Undervalued
God,
I thank You for setting me apart—even when it’s lonely.
Even when they don’t get it. Even when they reject me.
I confess: sometimes I let their opinions get louder than Your calling. I’ve shrunk. I’ve questioned. I’ve tried to fit in.
But no more.
Help me stand tall in what You’ve called me to do.
Let every rejection reveal the wings You gave me.
Let every closed door push me closer to my next.
Remind me, God, that Your name is still written on me—even when I forget mine.
Thank You for seeing me as more than a person
Thank You for making me a person with a calling.
And thank You for the victory that’s already in motion.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
